Books to have on your shelf by 2017

‘Tis the season to be reading! The weather has been uncharacteristically warm for November in Michigan, but I have been loving it. I’ve been able to actually enjoy the fall instead of rushing through it like I usually do this time of year. Of course, that doesn’t mean that I haven’t still been loading up on Hallmark Christmas movies during the week…Although it’s been a gorgeous fall, when the sun sets at 4:45 P.M. it’s time to trade in our Friday night dancing shoes for a pile of great books. My reading taste changes constantly and I seem to always be reading multiple books simultaneously so that I don’t miss anything! My favorites list is composed of fiction and non-fiction best sellers that I have read and others that are on my “must read” list. Each one of these books has something different to offer depending on your mood, interest level, or amount of free time. Make sure to also check out goodreads for more titles and reviews. Happy reading!

Unbecoming by Rebecca Sherm – This is the author’s first novel. Rebecca is a Michigander and an incredible new talent. If you are in the Detroit area be sure to join Royal Oak Public Library’s Thursday night book club, which will be discussing Unbecoming on November 17. Commonwealth by Ann Patchett A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero The Road to Little Dribbling  by Bill Bryson Better Than New by Nicole Curtis – Nicole Curtis is known for her design talent as seen on HGTV’s Rehab Addict. She is from Lake Orion, MI and now resides between Detroit and Minneapolis. Nicole has been on a book tour for the past month and will be at Books-A-Million in Beverly Hills, MI on November 18 for a book signing and reading. The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham The Undoing Project by Michael Lewis
